The musical Spamalot is coming to KC in August. I can’t decide if I’m going to buy tickets. On one hand, it’s Monty Python. On the other, it’s a musical… and I’m really not sure if my love of Monty Python can outweigh my gag reflex to musicals.

EEEEEK! Where!???? I love musicals! (okay, Cats sucked, I’ll give you that)
Never mind, I got my tickets already!
We just bought tickets today.
C’mon can’t you just imagine hearing “We’re knights of the round table…” sung in person?
I loved Cats!
Bummer! We’ll miss it, as we will be in Canada then.
We are so bringing coconut halves to the show ![]()
You’re seriously underestimating the power of a big-budget Superman musical. Fortunately, India beat us to the concept.
surely you can handle at least a little bit of peril.
besides, it’s monty python. the songs will be funny.
I saw Spamalot on Broadway with my 13 year old daughter and am now living with 13 year old Monty Python fanatic. This was less a musical than a bunch of goofballs doing really stupid shit to music. Definitely worth a watch.
I saw Spamalot on Broadway last fall. While it wasn’t my first choice (I desperately wanted to see Avenue Q but tickets were crazy expensive), I really enjoyed it. I’m not a Monty Python fanatic; I think I would have liked it even more if I were. Like Stinkbai says, it was less a traditional musical and more an extended series of Monty Python skits set to music.
Something to say?
Damn, that’s a tough call!
