I found a flyer for what may be the greatest thing to ever come to Kansas City. Behold:

Okay, maybe not the greatest thing unless you’re a sci-fi dork.  But still, Star Trek vs. Star Wars convention? With costume contests? Seriously people, I’m so going and taking pictures at this dork fest. And I can call them dorks because I’m a dork too.  BTW, I’m a little offended that Star Trek is listed first in the title… everyone knows that Star Wars is better.

Here’s the details if you can’t read their crappy flyer:

Star Trek vs. Star Wars Convention

Saturday, May 3rd   9 AM to 5 PM
Sundary, Mary 4th   10 AM to 4 PM

Penn Valley Community College Gym
3201 Southwest Trafficway
Kansas City, MO 64111

P.S. - And no, I’m not dressing up as Princess Leia, so don’t even ask.

If I were still a teenager, I’d be all over this (and I have the photographic evidence to prove it). These days I’m perfectly content hanging out with blogger geeks instead.

If your not going to dress like Princess Leia. Then what’s the point in me going?

And thanks for adding the email follow up plugin.

Not even the Ice Planet Hoth Leia?
I wonder if I found some green body paint and googley eyes if I could pass as an athletic Hut…

And on a kind of , sort of, semi related note. Traci Lords was a featured guest at a couple of those nerd fests. Ties your whole porn store chronicles and comicon thing together. Sort of, kind of.

What a great opportunity for me to dust off my Jar-Jar Binks costume.

Yep. Star Wars is better. But Firefly is best.

Yea but Traci Lords only came dressed as Traci Lords…

And Kanga, do uou know why Firefly fans would win in a fight with Star Trek Fans? Because the Trek fans hips break when you knock em down!

*Disclaimer: That was just a joke, I am an equal opportunity geek

Never cared much for either.

Movies and TV just do not capture the future like the imagination does when reading a book

I’d rather see you dressed as “6″ anyways! Too bad I will be hunting that weekend.
